400 DENIER VS. 200 DENIER

FLAG FACTS:

Fact #1
Sometimes less is more.  400 denier is relatively new to the industry and typically used on sailboats.
Fact #2
The purpose of a golf flag is to show where the cups is, and to help golfers judge wind speed.  It takes a 7 to 10 mph wind to get a 400 denier flag waving.  It takes a 3 to 5 mph wind to get a 200 denier flag waving.  Advantage: 200 denier.  Plus, the heavier 400 denier flag wears out a flagstick faster.
Fact #3
Golf flags are meant to fly.  Sails are meant to propel sailboats.  One has nothing to do with the other.  So trust us when we tell you the only time we recommend 400 denier is usually when we're talking to sailors, not superintendents.
